Recent Museum Accomplishments

Through the dedicated efforts of its staff, volunteers and donors, the museum offers a full array of educational programs:

 ·                   In 2011 the museum provided more than 47,000 visitors from 50 states and 40 foreign countries with a quality experience of unique American automotive history.

 ·                   The museum's Beyond the Classroom program provides students with Study Trips that meet Indiana Academic Standards in a variety of subjects. In 2011, 850 students participated in the program. Since the program began in 2001, almost 15,000 students, mostly from northeast Indiana, have participated in Study Trips.

·                     In 2011, the museum’s Archives Department fulfilled almost 1,000 archival requests from authors, car enthusiasts and educators around the world.

·                    More than 100 volunteers contributed almost 14,000 hours of their time to support almost all areas of museum operations in 2011.

·                    The museum is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day, and during 2012, the museum is open on Tuesday evenings until 8 p.m.

·                    Thanks to a grant from the Olive B. Foundation, awarded in 2011, the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum will offer its Beyond the Classroom program free to students in school groups in 2012, as long as funding lasts. Teachers, chaperones and bus drivers are always free. The grant also helped publicized the program to area teachers so that more students will have the chance to participate in the program.
