Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum Lost Makes of Auburn History
WANTED: The Missing Makes of Auburn, Indiana. No fewer than 10 different brands of motorcars, which were not made by the Auburn Automobile Company, were manufactured in Auburn, Indiana, in the pre-World War I era.
Only four of these Auburn, Indiana, makers are represented in the Museum with actual cars. The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum is looking for the whereabouts of the following makes: Auburn Motor Buggy and Handy Wagon (1912-1915), Model (1902-1906) and Union (1916). It is known that Black automobiles were produced in Auburn only for the years of 1908-09. One Auburn brand can be confused with a later maker of the same name is the de Soto (1913-14) produced by Zimmerman. It is unknown if any examples of these makes of automobiles built in Auburn have survived.
If you know the whereabouts of any of these missing makes of Auburn, Indiana, please contact Aaron Warkentin, Curator, at 260-925-1444, info@automobilemuseum.org.
