The museum earns just over 50 percent of its yearly educational program and operating budget from revenue from admissions, events and meetings held in its conference rooms, and sales at the Museum Store.  The other almost 50 percent of this budget comes from memberships, donations, grants from foundations, and gallery and event sponsorships. This means that a wide variety of donors, providing all levels of gifts, are appreciated and essential in maintaining and improving the museum and its educational experience for our visitors.  Here are other good reasons to give to the museum:

  • The museum is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums. This accreditation verifies that the museum meets or exceeds the highest existing museum standards. Less than five percent of the nation’s 17,774 museums have earned this accreditation, and only two museums have achieved it in the automobile museum category.

  • Your gift will help maintain and preserve the museum’s historic automotive collection.

  • Your gift will help preserve a National Historic Landmark! The museum was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2005 for history of the Auburn Automobile Company that took place within it and on its grounds.

  • Your gift will help the staff and volunteers provide the best possible experience for the museum’s almost 50,000 annual visitors from all 50 states and 40 foreign countries.

  • Your gift will support the museum’s archives, its educational programming and its award winning galleries.
