The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum Volunteer Association is always looking for new members to volunteer at the museum.  There are a variety of positions available to those interested. If you have time daily, weekly, monthly or even on occassion that you would like to donate to the museum, please contact us.  Here are some of the things volunteers do at the museum.

Volunteers at Admissions greet visitors, introduce them to the museum, and handle admission fees.  With visitors coming in from all over the world, this position is enjoyed by volunteers who like to meet new people.  It is a scheduled position.

Volunteers in this position walk through the museum and speak with visitors.  A gallery host knows basic information about the cars and the museum to answer visitor questions.  He or she must have a pleasant personality and enjoy speaking with people.  This is a scheduled position.
Gallery hosts that successfully complete the Museum's Docent Training can conduct guided tours.  The tours are booked in advance and usually take two hours.  The docent should have a strong desire to learn about the history of the Auburn Automobile Company and be comfortable with speaking in public.

This group of volunteers prepares bulk mailings for the Museum by folding letters, stuffing, and labeling envelopes.  It is a good way to socialize while helping the Museum.

Clerical volunteers assist the office staff behind the scenes by making copies, filing, and typing.  Volunteers that answer the phones sit at the front desk during a scheduled time slot each week.  Both of these jobs keep the Museum running day-to-day!
The Museum receives requests from many people who want information about the museum, the history of the Auburn Automobile Company and, of course, the automobiles.  Thos who enjoy doing research will enjoy helping in the archives.

The Museum Store Clerk volunteers help customers with purchases, handle sales of merchandise, and keep the store inventory stocked.  This is a scheduled position.

This area involves a number of different duties.  Volunteers dust the exhibit cars and keep air in the tires.  They also do some restoration work on collection vehicles.  Maintenance of the automobiles is a very important part of the museum’s quality and appearance.

There always seems to be some project going on around here!  The building is constantly being maintained and restored.  Volunteers who enjoy building, painting, and cleaning are very comfortable in this position.  We have seen some amazing things accomplished by volunteers in this area.
This is an area that has quite a few different funcations and opportunities.  An annual Bridal Show, Halloween Trunk-or-Treat, and fundraising events are examples of times volunteers help the museum during special events.  This is great for anyone who wants to volunteers, but is not available on a weekly basis.
This is a three-season position (spring, summer, and early fall).  Volunteers are responsible for planting, watering, and maintaining the greenery on the museum grounds.  This position is great if you like being outdoors and don't mind getting your hands a little dirty.

Detail crew members make sure our cars really shine - they dust the automobiles on display.  This is a great way to admire the automobiles up close and help the museum at the same time.
