Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum
New Automobile Donation: 1936 Cord 810
The Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum is pleased to announce the acquisition of a 1936 Cord 810 Westchester sedan donated by Betty Malks of Capitola, California.
This Cord has an extraordinary story. It was known as Moonshadow by its former owner, the late Josh B. Malks, who was an early Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Club member and editor of the club’s newsletter. Mr. Malks was also an acknowledged Cord 810/812 expert, having wrote two comprehensive books on the subject, along with contributions to many automotive publications.
During Mr. Malks’ ownership, this Cord traveled on three continents. From the Swiss Alps to the Dead Sea, this Cord drove tens of thousands of miles. It performed an annual pilgrimage to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Reunion over Labor Day week. Through Mr. Malks’ tireless efforts and his use of this Cord, he was able to preserve and tell the amazing story of the Cord 810/812 automobile.
